Learn and practice higher yoga and spiritual disciplines

The wisdom of the Śambhala curriculum on higher yoga and meditation are based on the teachings of the Śambhala Maṭha and the Gouri-Śankara Piṭha in the Himalaya. The curriculum shares how Himalayan siddha yoga training integrates all aspects of indigenous knowledge, from mindfulness to meditation, yoga with art, spiritual philosophy and music, among many other seamlessly combined diverse parts of practical dharma. Structured coursework guides aspirants on a path of spiritual inquiry, living mindfully and building an immersive practice of meditation.

Inspired by the Supreme Personality of God

The Śambhala curriculum (gurukulam) celebrates the advent of the supreme personality of Godhead in human form, Lord Viṣṇuyaśā Kalkideva. The root sound bhala implies the connotations of articulation, discoursing, to grip and behold, and to connect for meeting in fellowship. The prefix śaṃ invokes auspiciousness of benevolence. Thus the term Śambhala implies a blissful ambassador who beholds benevolence to bind many with dharma through extraordinary articulation and powers of manifestation. Śambhala captures the spirit of this descension of the supreme personality of God.
